Peterborough A.C.E. Programme
What is ‘Skilled for Life’?
Skilled for Life is a programme of learning that helps to prepare a young person for the world of work. The units will develop a range of new skills that will help young people to gain worthwhile employment after leaving education, prepare for higher education or go onto an apprenticeship. The programme is designed to help with self esteem and self confidence and addresses individual’s personal needs.
The programme is very flexible and can be built around an individual’s student’s needs. The course will be designed around what is of interest to the student and also prepare them for the area of work or study that they have identified as being the pathway they would like to follow when they leave ACE.
At ACE Training the programme of study will be made up from these areas of learning:-
Importantly the Skilled for Life programme allows students to work at their own pace and with the unit based certification they will always gain recognition of achievement in small steps as they progress. Each unit studied will have a ‘credit value’ and all completed units will be accredited through Edexcel/BTEC and a certificate earned. The amount of credits gained will determine an overall result of an Award, Certificate or a Diploma. Students work towards full qualifications from entry level to level 2 dependent upon their ability and attendance at the ACE centre.
